Elana’s – My Story

Nestled between the majestic Langeberg and Riviersonderend mountain ranges and with the Breede River winding through the fruit orchards, our farm, Drie Eike, is home to my own product range, named Elana’s. My love for the food industry began by studying Home Economics at the University of Stellenbosch and my journey took off by working at a canning factory where I spent the next 16 years.

Always being an entrepreneur and staying on a farm in a part of the country directed by the ever changing tapestry and seasonal abundance of our orchards and surroundings, I started experimenting with traditional recipes, yet with an eye to innovation and so Elana’s was born in 2006.

Over the years I built a niche food preserve business of jams, marmalades, dressings, sauces, preserves, olives, pickles, cordials and sweets. Each product is a labour of love and brought to life by a combination of family recipes, my new innovative creations, feedback from friends and customers and a thoughtful selection of ingredients, mostly grown on our farm or bought from farms in the surroundings. All my products are handcrafted and with the help of my assistants, I pick, cook and preserve everything myself in my custom made farm kitchen, serving as a homemade factory.

My products are for sale in restaurants, farm stalls and deli’s countrywide, as well as at my own factory outlet and I also courier products to homes anywhere.
